It has been a busy few months.
I have been working on new material. I’m now concentrating on refining a selection of songs with the potential of recording. I always find this the hardest part of writing, but also the most rewarding.
At times I feel despondent and quite ready to throw a song in the bin, or give it to my two year old who will happily destroy it for me. At other times I feel a surge of excitement as a chord, a note, a melodic phrase comes to life and seems to complete the work.
The test is when my family hears a song whileI am working on it. I will either be told to stop singing as I am too loud, or I will hear them singing it later in the day. I then know that the song has connected with another human being, and I am content.
